I apologize in advance for the large file size, I tried to make it as small as possible without ruining the quality. If it takes more than five minutes to load, please tell me, I'll make a smaller version.
I don't intend to win, I just did it for fun, though after a while I got a little carried away.
...Okay, screw "a little". I made an ENTIRE MANGA PAGE. XD It was fun, though! I got to try out (and create) some new digital screen tones. :3
Description I went by was: "This philosophical ninja has a graceful build. His wide eyes are blue. He has bone-white hair worn in a strange style. His outfit includes a lot of mismatched pieces from other outfits. He is skilled in stealth and astrology. He uses his weapon to produce sound waves that can have various effects."
You have no idea how badly I wanted to name him "Yakushi"-something. NO IDEA. XD
Fortunately for everyone's sanity (and mine!), I did not, and I gave him the name of Fujita Ryoichi. Say hello, Ryoichi-kun! :3
I had fun designing him--the hair and the outfit were a bit difficult, and it's hard to tell that his eyes are indeed blue (I picked a nifty shade of blue and turned it grayscale), but I had ideas for the philosophy and weapon details almost as soon as I started sketching. The philosophy/astrology is obvious in the dialogue (err, monologue), of course, and the weapon...
Well, it's based off of a dog whistle. XD
My train of thought behind this: "He's supposed to be good at stealth, right? Well weapons that use sound aren't very good for stealth...unless it's sound humans can't hear, like a dog whis--WAITASEC! That's perfect! "
So I combined a few of the Otonin's delightful methods of showing how sound can wreak merry havoc on a person's body into a silent whistle that plays more than one note. (So it's a little more like a mini-flute or something. That is silent. XD;; )
i r teh kreative. XD
Also, the unfortunate panda-masked ANBU is nobody we know, but I think I may use him again sometime. I rather like him. *pets Panda-san*
And that is my entry! I know I won't win unless I manage to acquire an Improbability Drive* and hook it up to my computer, but it was fun to do, and you're definately going to be seeing more manga pages from me in the future.

Damn. He’s really cute, Star-chan. :3 I love his pants and just hair.
So cuuute! ^_^ Probably deadly as hell, though. Can he freeze enemies using any instrument or is his whistle the only one that can do it?
His whistle's the only thing that can freeze people. It hits a certain high-frequency pitch that tells the brain to lock up the muscles in the arms and legs. Any other instrument would have too low a pitch to work correctly, not to mention the target would hear it. (And proceed to throw a few weapons in his direction...)
But, um, yes. Far-fetched ninja!science aside, it's only Teh Whistle Of D00m that works.
(He is a cute li'l thing, isn't he? :3 Glad you like his outfit and hair, I was hoping they looked okay.)
