We all love the pretty shiny jewel people and their story of tragic love and genocide and gender-switching, but the Dragon arc has got its own special place in my heart. ♥ Partly for the awesomeness (dragon-slaying! fiery hell-castles! siblings!), and partly for all the times I acted out the Windcaller's lines to my sister when we were both playing the game, which is a really nice memory. "*squeaky voice* We may be weak, but we serve Akravatoooor! We stop you with our lives~!" "Heeheehee."
I figure Larc deserves some fan art as much as all the other characters, and I wanted more practice with this technique, so that resulted in a badass picture of the doggyface dragoon in the super-time-consuming digital crosshatching style! His axe was obviously the absolute bane of my existence. I cannot draw weapons for the life of me, I swear. :\
Took about approximately 8-10 hours total in Photoshop CS4, spread out over the course of a few days.
Releasing the image under Creative Commons license as usual; also as usual, the general rule is "linkbacks are encouraged, but just don't sell him on anything and we're good." We'd both get into legal trouble anyway, since Larc is © Square Enix/Squaresoft (oh hey you see what I did there, I combined my standard copyright/CC sections into one thing, is that totally clever or what :
On an only somewhat related note, I really want to thank *ehllychan
for picking up the scanlation of the manga from where Cabbit left off--and by "thank" I mean "wallow at her feet like an extremely grateful and ecstatic puppy"--but this has unfortunately led me to being retroactively idea-stolen by Shiro Amano. Had an Interesting Thing written for my main character guy, and then bam, latest chapter reveals that the 'official' main character guy has the same Interesting Thing. It's not like it's the most original Thing in the world, but this has happened to me so many times
in so many different ways with otherwise very unique ideas, it's seriously frustrating.
